4 Words: Love at first swipe! Creamy, velvety smooth and deliciously pigmented. I had always skipped over these unassuming Catrice Velvet Matt Eyeshadow pans in the drugstore. The one time I touched them… oh my. I knew I had to grab them to share.
Let’s dance into the review and swatches!
These eyeshadows come in solid, clear cases. I’m fairly impressed by how sturdy they feel. They close with a satisfying click and scream quality at this price range.

040 Al Burgundi is a dark burgundy/wine shade. It’s slightly drier and less pigmented than the other shades, but buildable. It’s also less blendable and can be slightly patchier. On the lid, it tends to appear less red/purple.
030 Jump Up and Brown… (Yes, its name comes with “…”) is a dark, desaturated brown. Silky and pigmented in one swipe. Very blendable.
050 Welcome to Greysland! Is a taupe grey. Interestingly, it’s the only domed eyeshadow. It is the most silky and buttery of all three, with excellent pigmentation. Very blendable.
Final Verdict
The Catrice Velvet Matt Eyeshadow range offers fantastic quality at affordable drugstore prices, what’s not to love? Once, I gently dipped a fluffy brush into 050 Welcome to Greysland and ended up with an intense patch of grey on the lid with a light touch. It’s crazy – in the best way. Definitely worth checking out.
